RealityMine has been a pioneer in delivering data driven insights to the world's largest brands for over a decade. Our platform provides unique data solutions to our clients enabling them to make strategic, informed decisions powered by data from real people, collected in a privacy safe way. As we continue to expand, we are seeking a Data Platform Engineer who will play a key role in building and supporting our internal data infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong programming and DevOps skills, expertise in Python and AWS, and a passion for debugging and improving data processes. This role requires collaborative problem-solving, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to translate complex business requirements into robust data solutions.
The Role: You will tackle complex data challenges in a fast-paced, exciting environment, leveraging cutting-edge Amazon Web Services (AWS) technologies such as Lambda, SageMaker and Bedrock to develop innovative and scalable data solutions. RealityMine has an out of hours on-call team (additional compensation is made for on call hours) that you will be asked to join after a suitable settling in period. Our offices are in Trafford Park, Manchester and the role consists of hybrid working, where we ask for our team to be in the office for collaboration and team building 2 days per week. The rest of the week is up to you; deep focus at home, or more of the same!
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve the data platform, including the performance, architecture and design, and take ownership of the implementation.
- Continually review and measure the performance of the data platform and evaluate improvements in design, architecture and tooling.
- Become a subject matter expert for the data platform and supporting processes, actively sharing knowledge and contributing to our culture of continuous learning and development.
- Regularly reviewing colleagues’ work and providing helpful feedback.
- Contribute to technical discovery by working with stakeholders to clarify problems, challenge assumptions and shape defined requirements before implementation.
- Take ownership of production systems, independently investigating issues, identifying root causes and driving them through to resolution.
- Writing application code and tests that conform to standards, with a focus on scalability.
- Adhering to Company Policies and Procedures with respect to Security, Quality and Health.
