Realityjam is a developer platform and game studio created to transform the way that games are made. We're building a movement in game culture powered by creative energy to take back control from education institutions that don't deliver employment outcomes and studio gatekeepers who've locked UK youth out of game industry careers. We've partnered with Unity, the world's leading game engine, to create a new pathway for devs and artists to launch their careers and enter the industry by securing entry level roles with our company through an innovative, 2 year apprenticeship program that combines real work with industry training. We call this our 'Industry Access Program'.
The Junior Game Artist Apprenticeship focuses on world building, in-game content development and assets creation, working on MMO titles for PC desktop. During the Industry Access Program you'll work as an apprentice alongside Realityjam's game studio team creating remarkable new gameplay experiences and delivering world-class in-game content.
SCION FOUNDATION TRAINING PROGRAMOur Industry Access Program begins with a 12 month, full-time (30 hours per week), pre-apprenticeship training course to rapidly level up your game creation and Unity skills. We call this the 'Scion Foundation Training Program (SFT)'.
Please note: there are specific requirements and pre-requisites to join the Scion Foundation Training Course, detailed information about these requirements can be found on our website. During the SFT you'll work on live and in-production games, immersing you in industrial work while you learn. You'll receive public attribution and professional credits for the work you add to our games, elevating your professional profile. You'll monetize the content you contribute to our games including player skins and tradeable game items like vehicles and weapons, generating a passive revenue stream.
ADEPTUS APPRENTICESHIPUpon completing the Scion Foundation Course you'll step straight into a guaranteed 12-month 'Adeptus' apprenticeship (4 days per week) working as a Junior Game Artist working with tools like Unity and Blender, building game worlds and assets for MMO titles.
REMOTE WORKRealityjam is a remote work company and your work will be managed remotely using Discord and Jira. 3 times per year you'll join a 2-day conference, micro-festival and game jam event where you'll receive feedback on your work from industry experts while forging bonds with other members of the program.
UNITY CERTIFICATIONDuring the apprenticeship you'll also qualify as a Unity Certified Associate and gain a globally recognized certification from Unity as a certified game developer or certified game artist that qualifies you to work anywhere in the world.
REMUNERATIONThe remuneration package paid during the Adeptus Apprenticeship includes: £17,000 base wage (part-time, 4 days per week) plus holiday pay (22 days per year incl UK bank holidays), pension and sick pay, and a bonus structure offering up to £22,000 annual earnings.
REQUIREMENTSThe Industry Access Program is available to UK RESIDENTS ONLY, YOU MUST HAVE THE RIGHT TO RESIDE WORK IN THE UK AND YOU MUST HAVE A UK RESIDENTIAL ADDRESS TO JOIN. While no specific experience is necessary, our selection process gives credit to those who have developed a portfolio of work, either professional work or personal passion projects and submission of your portfolio is an important part of the application process. Those who already have some industry experience will also be well positioned to secure a place in the first intake.
