Merrydale Day Nursery, located at Amen Corner, Wokingham, welcomes an Apprentice to join their team as an Early Years Apprentice. You will receive on‑job training to experience the day‑nursery environment, working alongside a designated buddy and advancing towards the key person role.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist team members in delivering the highest standard of compliance, care and education for children while managing daily nursery operations and fostering positive partnerships with staff and parents.
  • Contribute ideas to planning, ensuring children receive high‑quality learning and development opportunities.
  • Liaise with nursery staff regarding children’s specific needs and requirements.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment.
  • Adhere to all nursery policies and procedures and meet health and safety and environmental health requirements.
  • Collaborate with your buddy to support inclusion practices.
  • Observe, assess and plan stimulating, challenging activities that align with each child’s individual learning, development needs and abilities.

Apprenticeship Details:

  • Level 2 Early Years Practitioner apprenticeship standard, covering Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours.
  • Functional skills in Maths and English if required.
  • Apprenticeship Duration: 12 months.
