We are currently supporting an innovative outreach provision in IG11 seeking an English Teacher to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a therapeutic education setting, supporting young people with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Responsibilities
- Teaching English and Literacy to KS3 and KS4 pupils
- Delivering engaging lessons both face-to-face and virtually
- Supporting pupils working towards their EHCP targets and personal aspirations
- Developing literacy skills through creative and differentiated learning
- Working closely with Therapeutic Education Practitioners and wider support teams
- Promoting positive engagement, emotional regulation and pupil wellbeing
Requirements
- Hold QTS or QTLS with a specialism in English
- Have experience teaching English at secondary level
- Have knowledge of, or experience working with, pupils with SEND, ASC and/or SEMH
- Be passionate about inclusive education and supporting young people to achieve their potential
- Be resilient, adaptable and committed to a therapeutic approach to education
