Overview

Early years practitioner apprentice at Fox Hollies Russell Nursery School.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the care needs and personal care routines of babies and children in the setting are met.
  • Follow all safeguarding and health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Communicate with children, colleagues and parents and carers effectively.
  • Record and keep records and reports for children as required and following the EYFS framework requirements.

Training and Apprenticeship

Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. You will receive all of the on-the-job training you need, and 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day. You will be working towards the Level 5 Early Years Lead Practitioner apprenticeship standard, which includes the following modules:

  • Leadership and management
  • Child development and theory
  • Pedagogy
  • Health and wellbeing
  • Health and safety
  • Equality, diversity, inclusion and SEN
  • Safeguarding
  • Partnership working

This will be delivered by your dedicated training provider, Realise.
