Kingshurst Caterpillars is a privately run, well established and well equipped pre‑school setting, with a safe environment for children to learn, play and thrive. Working in the Playgroup will provide good opportunities to work alongside experienced staff with a wide range of children, some of whom may have additional needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring all aspects of the playgroup routine comply with the rules for safety and cleanliness.
  • Assisting and providing safe, creative and appropriate ways.
  • Assisting with the provision of full care for the children including preparing refreshments.
  • Helping to set up the playroom and outdoor areas and tidy away at the end of each session.
  • Attending training courses for example: First Aid, safeguarding.
  • Adhering to all policies within the setting.
  • Keeping confidential information regarding the children, their families or other staff.
  • Attending staff meetings is required.
  • Carrying out responsibilities and activities within an equal opportunities framework.
  • Assessing, monitoring and recording the progress of the individual children's development including maintaining children's dairies.

Training to be Provided:

Qualifications & Training:

  • Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid or Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid.
  • Level 2 Functional Skills in maths, and English (if required).
  • Disability Confident.

Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. They will provide you with all of the on‑the‑job training you need to up‑skill in your role, and your 20% off‑the‑job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day. You will be working towards the Level 3 Early Years Educator apprenticeship standard.
