At Kelton Nursery they offer a range of services to meet the needs of a busy family, including Holiday and After School care. They provide high quality childcare and education to children aged between 6 weeks and 5 years in a warm and safe environment for 51 weeks of the year. They are looking for a motivated apprentice to join their team.

Responsibilities

  • Setting up rooms for children
  • Liaising with staff members, parents and carers
  • Working as part of a professional Early Years team
  • Using communication and knowledge of child development to engage with children and support those requiring additional support
  • Carrying out respectful care routines such as feeding, nappy changing and dental care
  • Receiving training to be provided (full role and responsibilities set out by employer)

They will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day.

Apprenticeship and training

You will be working towards the Level 3 Early Years Educator apprenticeship standard, which includes:

  • Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
  • Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Educator
  • Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid or Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid
  • Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required) – This will be delivered by your dedicated training provider, Realise.
