Red Kite Children's Day Nursery are a patient, loving and encouraging team who have worked at the nursery collectively for more then 80 years. We pride ourselves on the love and care we give our children, nurturing their progress and encouraging them to reach their full potential.

As an apprentice your duties will be:

  • To attend team meetings and input ideas.
  • Under supervision, to provide all aspects of care for children including washing, changing and feeding.
  • To assist with meeting the personal and emotional needs of individual children.
  • To provide adult interaction with children in the nursery.
  • To be aware of the nurseries confidentiality policy.
  • To support all staff and engage in a good staff team.

You will help maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness, support the nursery as a whole and remain aware of the needs of all children. They must maintain confidentiality and help provide a high-quality, inclusive environment that meets the individual needs of children from different cultural and religious backgrounds and stages of development.

Working Week

Shift Pattern Monday – Friday, 9.5 hours per day

Qualifications Required

GCSE Maths and English at a Grade 4/C or equivalent.

Training to be Provided

Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. They will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day.

You will be working towards the Level 2 Early Years Practitioner apprenticeship standard, which includes:

  • Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
  • Functional skills in Maths and English if required

This will be delivered by your dedicated training provider, Realise.

Future Prospects

Full employment on completion of the apprenticeship.
