T he Role

We're looking for a Transport Training Manager to lead the delivery of our Route to Success programme and commercial transport training operations across the North East of England.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our growing Transport Training Academy, supporting learners to gain their Category D licence and progress into rewarding careers within the passenger transport sector.

Working closely with transport operators, trainers and driving instructors, you'll be responsible for ensuring high-quality programme delivery, strong learner outcomes and excellent employer engagement across the North East and surrounding areas.

  • Programme & Operational Management
  • Lead the Route to Success delivery team, ensuring a high-quality learner experience throughout the programme.
  • Oversee delivery of all contract outputs and ensure learners achieve successful outcomes.
  • Monitor learner, team and contract performance data to ensure KPIs and contractual targets are achieved.
  • Ensure operational compliance with all regulatory requirements, including Health & Safety and DVSA standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement across programme delivery and learner outcomes.
  • Team Leadership
  • Manage the performance of classroom trainers and driving instructors.
  • Provide coaching, support and direction to team members to drive learner achievement and satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, observations and one-to-one meetings.
  • Foster a positive culture focused on quality, accountability and learner success.
  • Learner & Employer Engagement
  • Ensure learners receive an effective onboarding experience and are fully prepared for their learning journey.
  • Support learners throughout their programme, from enrolment through to licence achievement and employment.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with passenger transport operators across the region.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for employer partners regarding recruitment and learner progression.
  • Represent Realise at employer, industry and stakeholder events.

Please note, this role is subject to contract win.

Where will I be based?

This is a home-based role with regular travel across the North East.

Travel will be required to training centres, employer sites, learner locations and industry events.

This will be discussed further during the interview process.

About You

  • Proven leadership experience managing training teams within the PCV (bus driving) sector. - Experience delivering or overseeing classroom-based and practical driver training programmes. - Strong understanding of learner journeys, achievement and progression into employment. - Experience managing contract delivery and performance within a regulated environment. - Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on learner and employer experience. - Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with employers and external stakeholders. - Experience monitoring performance data and driving continuous improvement. - Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and solution-focused approach.
