The Role
Ready to step away from shift work and use your transport experience to develop others?
At Realise, we’re seeking industry professionals who want to shape the next generation of safe, reliable bus drivers.
No teaching qualification is required – just strong experience and the motivation to help people succeed.
You’ll deliver structured learning sessions across classroom and online environments, supporting apprentices as they progress towards end point assessment.
It’s a great opportunity to stay connected to the industry while making a lasting difference to people’s careers.
Whilst no two days are ever the same, you can expect to
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, inclusive learning and development sessions (classroom and/or online)
- Tailor workshop content using learners’ initial assessment results
- Equip learners with the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required for their apprenticeship and future career
- Prepare and mark learner work, providing constructive feedback and tracking progress
- Support learners in building their portfolio of evidence ready for End Point Assessment (EPA)
- Schedule and conduct timely learner reviews, gathering feedback from relevant stakeholders
- Liaise with employers to confirm attendance and coordinate operational requirements such as driver release
- Maintain accurate records and complete administrative tasks to ensure compliance
- Uphold high quality standards across all training activities
- Build positive, professional relationships with learners and employers to create a supportive learning environment
Where will I be based?
This is a hybrid role, with some of your time based at a depot that could be as far as Lincoln, and the remainder working from home.
This will be discussed with you further in your interview.

About You
We’re looking for someone who
- Has strong knowledge of bus driving standards, safety, and customer service excellence
- Is passionate about helping others succeed
- Delivers training that is engaging, inclusive, and high quality
- Is highly organised and able to manage a varied workload
- Communicates clearly and builds strong working relationships
- Is confident delivering training both face-to-face and online
- Holds relevant industry qualifications
- Has a full UK driving licence and access to their own transport
Desirable (but not essential – we’ll support you to achieve these)
- Teaching or assessing qualification
- Experience delivering structured training or workshops

- You can expect a two-stage interview process for this position, which will comprise of a short informal telephone call with the Hiring Manager, followed by a one-hour formal interview, likely on Teams, where we will ask you competency and behavioural questions and ask you to present a short microteach.
