We are looking for a compassionate, patient, and committed Teaching Assistant to join our inclusive secondary school in Walthamstow. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people with special educational needs. The successful candidate will work closely with classroom teachers and the SENCO to provide tailored support to students with a range of needs, helping them to access the curriculum and reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEN
- Assist in developing and delivering personalised learning strategies
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment
- Support students’ social and emotional development
- Collaborate with staff and parents to monitor progress
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN (preferably in a school setting)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A calm, adaptable, and proactive approach
- A genuine passion for supporting young people
Desirable:
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE, Level 2/3 TA, or equivalent)
- Knowledge of EHCPs and strategies for supporting ASD, ADHD, and SEMH needs
