We are looking for enthusiastic, adaptable, and committed Cover SEN Teaching Assistants to join our flexible supply pool, supporting SEN primary and secondary schools across Newham.

About the Role

As a Cover SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide high-quality classroom support on an ad hoc basis, covering staff absence and additional staffing needs.

You'll work alongside experienced teachers and school staff to create a safe, engaging, and nurturing learning environment for pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and learning differences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils in lessons and throughout the school day.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with students.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
  • Adapt to different classes, age groups, and learning needs.
  • Assist with personalised learning activities and interventions.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching and pastoral staff to ensure pupils receive consistent support.

We're Looking For Someone Who

  • Has experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEN or educational setting.
  • Is calm, patient, resilient, and flexible.
  • Can build positive relationships and communicate effectively.
  • Is confident adapting to different school environments.
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Holds an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one.
