Salary: £90 - £110 per day depending on experience

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join our welcoming and inclusive mainstream secondary school in Whitechapel. In this rewarding role, you will work closely with a student who has an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), providing tailored support to help them access the curriculum, build confidence, and reach their full potential. You’ll work as part of a friendly, experienced team of teachers and support staff, guided by our SENCO and committed to making a positive difference every day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individualised support for a student with additional learning needs in and out of class
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO to implement support strategies and learning plans
  • Encourage independence, social interaction, and emotional wellbeing
  • Support access to lessons and help adapt learning materials to meet the student’s needs
  • Record progress and contribute to reviews of the student’s EHCP targets
  • Manual Handling and working with high SEN needs (Autism)
  • Intimate Care
