The Role
Due to the continued growth of the group, we are looking for an experienced and dedicated Senior Accountant to join our team in a newly created role. Reporting to the Financial Controller, and supported by a long‑standing finance team, you will be a key member of our internationally based finance team. The role is a permanent and full time position, based in the United Kingdom and on a hybrid working arrangement (with some in office and some days at home). You will own the month‑end close, tax compliance, and payroll compliance. A key focus will be on stock management and control and improving the financial processes through automation. You will also support the Financial Controller on budgeting and FP&A tasks and manage the day‑to‑day output of our accountants. You will have direct visibility across a globally operating and high‑growth brand.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the monthly close process end‑to‑end (e.g. monthly journals, reconciliations and reporting)
- Own the end‑to‑end monthly stock reconciliation process across all entities and fulfilment locations
- Own end‑to‑end payroll processing and HRIS compliance across Australia, the UK, and the USA
- Day‑to‑day team management and oversight of finance accountants
- Prepare monthly management accounts including budget variance analysis, per entity and consolidated, using Fathom
- Coordinate and review quarterly royalty reports and elevate variances or discrepancies to the FC
- Maintain the group’s reporting and compliance obligations timetable
- Prepare and report on relevant global tax compliances
- Support coordination of the annual group audit
- Liaise with external advisors in each country as required
- Document and maintain finance processes and procedures, keeping them current as the business evolves
- Support the FC in the preparation of the annual budget and reforecast cycles
- Assist with cash flow projections and scenario modelling as directed
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve and streamline finance operations, including leveraging systems to reduce manual work and improve accuracy
- Support the FC with any additional tasks and projects as directed
Must‑Have Skills & Experience
- CA or CPA qualified (or equivalent)
- Experience with stock management and accounting across multi‑warehouses
- Confident running a month‑end close independently and to deadline
- Hands‑on experience with indirect tax compliance (VAT / GST / sales tax)
- Experience with preparing payroll across multiple jurisdictions
- Experience reviewing or supervising others’ accounting work
- Able to work autonomously in a remote, fast‑moving environment
- Audit background (public practice) highly regarded
- Experience in fashion, apparel, or a similarly product based business highly regarded
System Skills & Experience
- Strong Excel and AI skills
- Advanced Xero use
- Experience with Employment Hero (HRIS)
- Familiarity with Fathom for consolidated management reporting
- Experience with CIN7 of equivalent stock management systems
