We're recruiting for an experienced Senior Engineer to join a major infrastructure programme at Heathrow Airport, leading the delivery of critical civil, structural and enabling works within a live operational environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer who can manage complex work packages, lead site teams, and drive programme delivery while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the safe and compliant delivery of allocated work packages.
- Manage short-term programming and sequencing of works in line with the overall project programme.
- Coordinate day and night shift activities to ensure efficient project delivery.
- Monitor budgets, identify risks and opportunities, and work closely with planning and commercial teams.
- Ensure permits, RAMS and QA documentation are in place and adhered to.
- Lead, mentor and support engineers and supervisors across the project team.
- Champion health, safety, quality and environmental performance at all times.
Requirements
- Strong experience in civil engineering, groundworks and structural steel works.
- Package management experience, including planning, reporting and budget control.
- Good understanding of NEC contracts.
- Experience leading engineering teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Degree, HNC or HND in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
- SMSTS and CSCS certification.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- Previous Heathrow or airport infrastructure experience.
- Experience working within live, highly regulated operational environments.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD 3D, Civil 3D, BIM360 and Bentley MicroStation.
