Are you an experienced Logistics Project Manager with a background in major infrastructure, aviation, rail, or complex construction projects? We are seeking a hands-on logistics leader to support one of Heathrow Airport's largest capital investment programmes.

Working for Costain, Major Programme Partner (MPP) for Heathrow Airport, you will play a critical role in the delivery of the £700m+ Terminal 2 Baggage Programme (T2BP), managing all construction logistics operations across multiple live work fronts within one of the UK's busiest operational environments.

The Role

As Logistics Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading, planning and coordinating all logistics activities associated with the delivery of Tranche 5 works. Acting as the key interface between the project team, supply chain partners and Heathrow stakeholders, you will ensure materials, plant, deliveries, waste management and traffic movements are safely and efficiently managed across the programme.

This is a highly visible role requiring strong stakeholder management skills, operational leadership and the ability to perform under pressure within a complex live environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and maintain the project logistics strategy.
  • Lead all logistics planning, coordination and delivery activities across the programme.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for logistics and waste management operations.
  • Coordinate material movements, deliveries and site logistics across multiple work locations.
  • Manage logistics personnel, plant operations and site access arrangements.
  • Collaborate with Heathrow Airport logistics teams, project partners and subcontractors.
  • Oversee waste management processes and temporary traffic management requirements.
  • Produce logistics performance reports, workforce forecasts and dashboard updates.
  • Support construction teams in planning logistics compounds, laydown areas and delivery zones.
  • Promote best practice in health, safety and operational excellence across all logistics activities.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Proven experience in a Logistics Manager or Logistics Project Manager position on large-scale infrastructure or construction projects.
  • Experience leading and managing teams in complex delivery environments.
  • Strong subcontractor and supply chain management experience.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Proactive, hands-on approach with a calm and professional attitude under pressure.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety requirements within construction environments.

Desirable:

  • Previous Heathrow or airport experience.
  • Experience working in a live operational environment.
  • Knowledge of logistics systems, delivery booking platforms and large project logistics processes.
