We have a current opportunity for a Foundry AI Engineer on a contract basis. The position will be based in Egham. This is a remote contract for approximately three months. The role is outside IR35, with a start date planned for early to mid‑March.

Overview

The university is delivering a series of AI initiatives and requires an AI Engineer with hands‑on experience in AI Foundry to support the design, build, and deployment of AI use cases across the organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Work with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into AI use cases.
  • Build, deploy, and optimise AI models within AI Foundry.
  • Develop pipelines, workflows, and integrations needed to operationalise AI solutions.
  • Work closely with data teams, product teams, and technical leads to ensure successful delivery.
  • Troubleshoot issues and ensure models perform effectively in a production environment.
  • Provide documentation, knowledge transfer, and support the internal team throughout delivery.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an AI Engineer or similar role.
  • Hands‑on experience working with AI Foundry.
  • Strong understanding of machine learning, model development, and deployment workflows.
  • Experience with data pipelines, ML Ops, or cloud‑based AI tooling.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast‑paced project environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with both technical and non‑technical teams.
