A London-based Higher Education institution is seeking an experienced Linux Administrator / Linux Engineer to join a critical project focused on improving the management and security of its Linux estate. Working alongside an established project team, you will play a key role in securing and onboarding Linux devices into a managed endpoint security service. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Linux professional with strong security awareness and experience managing enterprise Linux environments.
The role will cover:
- Deploying and configuring Microsoft Defender for Endpoint across Linux devices.
- Onboarding and managing Linux endpoints within Microsoft Intune.
- Supporting the implementation of a managed endpoint security service.
- Implementing Linux security controls, compliance standards and best practices.
- Troubleshooting and resolving Linux endpoint and security-related issues.
- Producing technical documentation, deployment guides and operational procedures.
- Working closely with project stakeholders to ensure all Linux devices are successfully protected and onboarded within project timelines.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Strong Linux endpoint management experience.
- Hands-on experience deploying Microsoft Defender for Endpoint (MDE).
- Experience onboarding Linux devices into Microsoft Intune.
- Linux security and endpoint protection expertise.
- Ability to create technical documentation and deployment processes.
Contract Details:
- Initial 2-month contract.
- Strong likelihood of extension subject to project requirements.
- Hybrid - 1 day per week onsite in London.
- Β£450 - outside IR35.
