The Interim Enterprise Architect will play a critical role in shaping and guiding the university's IT architecture. This role requires a strategic thinker with the ability to operate on both a strategic and operational level. The successful candidate will work closely with various stakeholders to develop and implement a robust IT architecture that aligns with the university's goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy that supports the university's academic and administrative functions. Ensure data integrity, security, and accessibility across all university systems.
  • Integration: Design and oversee the integration of various IT systems and applications to ensure seamless data flow and interoperability. Identify and mitigate integration risks and challenges.
  • Network Design: Evaluate and enhance the university's network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, security, and scalability. Collaborate with IT teams to design and implement network solutions that meet current and future needs.
  • Identity and Access Management (IAM): Develop and implement IAM policies and solutions to ensure secure and efficient access to university systems and data. Manage user identities, roles, and permissions across all IT platforms.
  • "To Be" Architecture: Define and document the "to be" architecture for the university, outlining the desired state of IT systems and infrastructure. Develop a clear roadmap to transition from the current state to the desired future state.
  • Roadmaps: Create and maintain IT roadmaps that align with the university's strategic objectives. Communicate roadmaps to stakeholders and ensure alignment with overall business goals.
  • Strategic and Operational: Balance strategic planning with hands-on operational tasks to ensure the successful execution of IT initiatives. Provide expert advice and guidance to IT teams and university leadership.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience as an Enterprise Architect, preferably in a higher education environment.
  • Strong background in data strategy, integration, network design, and IAM.
  • Ability to develop and implement comprehensive IT architectures and roadmaps.
  • Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a part-time capacity.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., TOGAF, CISSP, CISM) are a plus.
