Technical Operator – Chemical Manufacturing. West Midlands (M5/M6 area). £33,000 + excellent benefits package. As one of the UK’s largest independent manufacturers supplying to the commercial sector, my client manufactures fine chemicals and rubber accelerators and has a history spanning over 150 years. With their headquarters in the West Midlands, they are true pioneers within the chemicals industry. With strategic expansion plans, an opportunity has arisen for a Technical Operator to join them and support in the manufacture of chemical intermediates from grams to multiple tonnes.
Working as part of the production team, the key responsibilities for your new role as Technical Operator are as follows:
- Monitoring of chemical reactions.
- Undertaking distillations, separations, transfers, filtrations and power handling.
- Using vacuum systems and nitrogen control panels.
- Working flexibly to adapt to changing processes.
For this role, my client would like to find someone currently working in a production environment – ideally chemical manufacturing. Although not essential, a fork lift truck license would also be desirable. Regardless of previous expertise, you should have an excellent attitude towards health and safety, be familiar with COSHH and work well both independently and as part of a wider team.
In return, my client is offering a salary of £33,000 and excellent benefits package, including life assurance, pension scheme, medical cash benefit plan and a generous company sick pay scheme. The role operates on a shift pattern of 2 days, 2 nights and 4 off, with each working shift being 12 hours. Day shifts are 6am-6pm and night shifts are 6pm-6am and the working pattern includes weekends and most Bank holidays with the exception of Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day.
