Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and commercially aware Glazing Estimator to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for glazing, curtain walling, window, door, and façade projects.

The role involves analysing drawings and specifications, obtaining supplier quotations, preparing tender submissions, and working closely with clients, project managers, and suppliers to secure new business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, and client requirements.
  • Measure and quantify glazing, curtain walling, windows, doors, and associated façade systems from architectural and construction drawings.
  • Prepare accurate material, labour, and subcontractor cost estimates.
  • Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Produce detailed tender submissions, quotations, and pricing schedules.
  • Identify project risks, value engineering opportunities, and cost-saving solutions.
  • Liaise with architects, contractors, suppliers, and clients regarding technical and commercial enquiries.
  • Attend site visits and pre-tender meetings where required.
  • Maintain an up-to-date database of pricing, suppliers, and historical project costs.
  • Support contract handovers to the project delivery team following successful tender awards.
  • Monitor market trends, material costs, and industry developments.
  • Ensure estimates comply with company procedures, quality standards, and client specifications.
  • Key Skills and Experience Essential
  • Experience in estimating within the glazing, façade, curtain walling, windows, or construction industry.
  • Experienced in Logikal, Techdesign & Schucal software
  • Strong ability to read and interpret architectural and technical drawings.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software.
  • Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet tender deadlines.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of aluminium curtain walling systems and structural glazing.
  • Experience working with major contractors and commercial construction projects.
  • Understanding of building regulations and industry standards.
  • HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Construction, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field.
