POSITION: HEAD HOUSEKEEPER
SALARY £30,000 – £32,000
This is an exciting opportunity to lead your own team in this beautiful country house hotel as Head Housekeeper.
About the role
As Head Housekeeper, you’ll take pride in ensuring that the bedrooms and public areas are always presented to the highest standards. You’ll lead by example, managing a team of Room Attendants and working closely with the General Manager to deliver a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for every guest.
Key responsibilities for the Head Housekeeper
- Oversee all housekeeping operations, including guest rooms, public spaces, and laundry.
- Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing housekeeping team.
- Create efficient rotas, monitor workloads, and ensure smooth daily operations.
- Conduct regular room and public area checks to maintain top-quality standards.
- Manage inventory of linen, cleaning supplies, and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety and COSHH regulations.
- Work collaboratively with front of house and maintenance teams.
The ideal candidate for this role will have
- Previous experience as a Head Housekeeper or Supervisor in a hotel setting (essential).
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Hands‑on leadership style with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment with fluctuating occupancy.
- A positive, can‑do attitude and commitment to high standards.
