The Awards Editor is responsible for managing submissions, surveys, and other data collection methods, interviewing executives for insight into companies’ work, and working with the broader research team to produce the relevant shortlists and winners for our awards program. You must be skilled at organizing and chasing external submissions, analysing information, interviewing senior market participants, and making decisions around our shortlists and winners. The Awards Editor will be part of the best-in-class awards research team across the insurance, banking, capital markets, infrastructure, aviation, and legal markets.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interview leading executives, marketers, and their clients (by phone and face-to-face)
- Solicit, chase, and analyse research submissions and market feedback
- Compile relevant shortlists, nominees, and winners
- Coordinate with relevant accreditation research teams and Market Intelligence editorial heads for relevant award categories on assigned programmes
- Write programmes (book of the night and scripts) for each ceremony and often an accompanying report
- Represent the Group at regional events and in meetings with firms and industry figures from the region

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
- High level research and writing skills
- Highly organised and calm under pressure
- Ability to keep to deadlines, pick things up quickly and multi-task
- A great listener and willing learner
- Strong written and spoken English
- A good telephone manner
- Basic note-taking skills
- Ability to work independently
- Designing and running awards submission processes in B2B industry/sector
- Experience with accreditation/benchmarking companies and individuals, and robust research process
- Experience of writing structured reports and editorial copy
- Face-to-face and telephone interview experience in a journalistic or other context
- Experience working collaboratively and closely with a sales/business development team
- Some knowledge of the legal or business environment, ideally in a journalistic capacity
- Experience handling large volumes of data
- Coordinating teams around deadlines
- Effective management of data collection and use
