Real Personnel are currently recruiting for an IT & Engineering Systems Technician to join a well-established manufacturing company based in Stourbridge.

This is a newly created position and a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for IT, technology and engineering who is looking to develop their career within a manufacturing environment.

You don't need years of experience! We're looking for someone technically minded, eager to learn and confident using computer systems. Recent college leavers with an interest in IT, automation or engineering are encouraged to apply.

The role offers a great mix of hands-on IT support, software systems, automation and technical projects.

Duties Include:

  • Providing day-to-day IT support across the business.
  • Learning and supporting the company's ERP system, assisting users and resolving issues.
  • Installing, configuring and maintaining computers, software and shop-floor devices.
  • Troubleshooting basic network, hardware and software issues.
  • Supporting the installation and development of automated inspection systems.
  • Assisting with robotics and automation projects alongside the engineering team.
  • Helping connect production machinery and shop-floor systems to the company network.
  • Creating reports and dashboards using Power BI.
  • Installing and maintaining digital display screens across production areas.
  • Liaising with external IT support providers when required.
  • Assisting with new IT projects and system improvements.

Requirements:

  • Good general IT knowledge and a genuine interest in technology.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a logical approach to troubleshooting.
  • Confident using computers and learning new software.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work with different departments.
  • Organised, reliable and able to manage multiple tasks.
  • Willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
  • An interest in manufacturing technology, automation or robotics would be advantageous.

Desirable but Not Essential:

  • IT, Computer Science, Electronics or Engineering qualification.
  • Experience with ERP systems or Power BI.
  • Basic networking or IT support knowledge.
  • Interest in PLC systems, robotics or industrial automation.
  • Experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment.

Full training and support will be provided, so previous experience with specialist manufacturing systems is not essential.

What's on Offer:

  • £32,000 annual salary.
  • Permanent position from day one.
  • Monday-Friday daytime hours.
  • Training and development in specialist IT and engineering systems.
  • Exposure to robotics, automation and industrial technology.
  • Opportunity to take ownership of IT projects.
  • Varied role within an established manufacturing business.
