1st Homecare is a respected and established provider of homecare services throughout Scotland. We support vulnerable adults to live independently, safely, and comfortably in their own homes.

We’re looking to recruit Support Workers who are compassionate, dependable, and committed to delivering high-quality care. Whether you’re experienced in care or completely new to the role, we’ll provide all the training and support you need to thrive.

What the Role Involves

As a Support Worker, you will visit individuals in their own homes, supporting them with a variety of essential daily tasks. Every day is different, but responsibilities typically include:

  • Assisting with personal care and hygiene
  • Preparing and serving meals
  • Medication prompts and basic health-related support (e.g., catheter care)
  • Providing emotional support and companionship
  • Supporting individuals to maintain their routines and wellbeing

You’ll support multiple service users throughout your shift, with all travel time between visits covered and mileage reimbursed at 30p per mile.

Shifts to Suit You

We offer a variety of shift patterns to help you balance work with your lifestyle:

  • Full-Time: 7:00am – 2:00pm and 3:30pm – 10:00pm (with a break between)
  • Part-Time: Morning (7:00am – 2:00pm) or Evening (3:30pm – 10:00pm)
  • Bank/Relief: Flexible, ad-hoc shifts based on your availability (submitted monthly)
