What You\’ll Do
This is a key role ensuring successful delivery of all financial reporting and preparation of statutory accounts for the charity and its subsidiaries which will involve;
Embed the organisational values of Respect, Honesty, Responsibility and Achieving Excellence in everything you do
Manage and develop two assistant accountants
Implement and maintain robust financial controls
Prepare financial reports, including monthly, quarterly and annual reports for internal and external stakeholders
Prepare and maintain the group\’s consolidated financial statements
Produce the quarterly VAT returns and provide an internal source of VAT expertise
Review the balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis
Support the annual audit and financial year-end process including preparation of disclosure notes and supporting schedules
Ensure compliance with charity accounting legislation, general accounting legislation and applicable company and charity law
Commitment to ensuring a responsive and genuine engagement with internal and external stakeholders
Drive improvements in financial systems, processes, and reporting capabilities
Collaborate with the wider finance team to help in its day-to-day running of the finance function
Participate in financial and financial systems projects as appropriate
What were looking for
Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA) with 3 years+ PQE
Strong technical background
Experience managing a team
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong numerical and Excel skills
NetSuite or similar ERP system experience
Proven experience in financial reporting, compliance, and statutory accounts preparation
Experience in a similar role in a charity or social care organisation
Able to appreciate the need for confidentiality and discretion
