Female Support Worker

Part Time Waking Nights – 25 hours per week

We are looking for Support Workers to come and join our dedicated team to help individuals live an independent and fulfilling life.

About us

Real Life Options is a registered charity currently going through a period of growth, and we are continuing to search for permanent contracted Support Workers who really want to make an impact on the lives of the people we support.

We deliver creative, dynamic and person-centred services providing a range of individualised support to people living in shared supported living properties and individual tenancies.

About the role

The service consists of four tenants three of which have autism. Ideal candidates would have experience supporting adults with complex physical health needs as well having experience in being able to use alternative ways of communicating.

Challenges and health needs include:

Prada Willi, Autism, Diabetes, Epilepsy and Challenging behaviour

Durham service is a small supported living service in a rural setting, five miles from the city of Durham, although it is a very rural, it has some transport links into the town.

A typical day:

Supporting individuals in all areas of daily life activities whilst promoting choice and independence/ Activities can include personal care, finances, cooking, meal preparation, shopping and cleaning.

You will encourage and maintain full active participation in the community and enjoying activities at home.

Activities can include walking in quieter/remote locations, drives out to the coast, arts and crafts, shopping, cinema, bowling, baking, watching films and listening to music.

Shift patterns:

25 hours per week
12.5 hour waking night shifts across the week and weekend.

An enhanced DBS for both adults and children will be required for this role.
