About the Role
As an Experienced Support Worker, you’ll empower individuals to make their own choices, reach their goals, and live as independently as possible. You’ll provide compassionate, person‑centred support that promotes dignity, respect, and choice every step of the way.
Your role will include supporting with:
- Day‑to‑day living tasks
- Personal care
- Medication administration
- Social integration and community activities
- Hobbies, interests, and fun themed events
- Attending appointments
- Building positive relationships and supporting emotional wellbeing
Our Strawberry Lane service supports three gentlemen with varying levels of autism, requiring patience, understanding, and strong observation skills. The environment can be intense, so this role suits someone who can remain calm, attentive, and confident assessing risks in the moment.
You’ll also be comfortable working independently during parts of the shift.
Experience with autism and/or relevant qualifications (e.g. NVQ) are preferred — but not essential. We’ll provide full accredited training, and we can support you to complete your NVQ.
Shift Details
This service provides 24‑hour support, so candidates must have full availability for shifts. Example shift patterns include:
- 8:00am – 3:00pm
- 3:00pm – 10:00pm
- 11:30am – 6:30pm
- 9:30am – 3:30pm
- 12:00pm – 7:00pm
You may support more than one gentleman during a single shift, depending on service needs. Occasional waking nights may also be required.
A full clean UK driving licence is essential to drive the Motability vehicles.
An enhanced DBS check will be required for this role.
