The predicted salary is between 12 - 16 £ per hour.

Part time 20 hours per week £12.21 per hour.

Shift patterns: 8am - 8.30pm and 3pm - 8.30pm. Double up shifts are available but this is flexible depending on the week and availability (10am-3pm or 10am-4pm).

Location: Edmondsley, Durham Area DH7.

About us: Real Life Options is a registered charity currently going through a period of growth, and we are continuing to search for permanent contracted Support Workers who really want to make an impact on the lives of the people we support. We deliver creative, dynamic and person-centred services providing a range of individualised support to people living in shared supported living properties and individual tenancies.

About the role: The service consists of four tenants, three of which have autism. Ideal candidates would have experience supporting adults with complex physical health needs as well as experience in using alternative ways of communicating. Challenges and health needs include: Prada Willi, Autism, Diabetes, Epilepsy, Challenging behaviour.

Durham service is a small supported living service in a rural setting, five miles from the city of Durham. Although it is very rural, it has some transport links into the town. For non-drivers, the service can be accessed via bus routes 56, X78 and 3 from 7am Monday to Friday, and 9am Saturday and Sunday; therefore, day staff would need to ensure they can arrive on time for an 8am start.

A typical day includes supporting individuals in all areas of daily life activities whilst promoting choice and independence. Activities can include personal care, finances, cooking, meal preparation, shopping, and cleaning. Encourage and maintain full active participation in the community and enjoying activities at home. Activities can include walking in quieter/remote locations, drives out to the coast, arts and crafts, shopping, cinema, bowling, baking, watching films, and listening to music. Having your own transport would be an advantage due to the location being very rural.

An enhanced DBS for both adults and children will be required for this role.
