Medical Copywriter – 21GRAMS role at Real Chemistry. Real Chemistry is a global healthcare communications and marketing agency. We are looking for a Medical Copywriter with solid experience and a passion for great work to join our London team, helping lead client strategy engagements and oversee projects and drive new business opportunities.
Our mission is to create effective work for clients through creativity, informed by listening and insight to understand audiences and client opportunities.
What You’ll Do
- Write clear, concise, commercially minded documents, adapting style for audiences such as healthcare professionals and patients, while adhering to the ABPI code of conduct and quality control processes.
- Collaborate closely with strategy, creative and account teams.
- Use credible resources to understand the science and strategy behind projects, ensuring awareness of brand objectives and competitive landscapes.
- Contribute to proposal development, pitch activities, and brainstorming sessions, communicating therapy area knowledge effectively.
- Manage and take ownership of projects, ensuring timelines and deadlines are met and addressing barriers with solutions.
- Engage with clients confidently, respond promptly to requests, and participate in briefings to ensure clear project requirements.
- Participate in review processes, executing editorial deliverables while adhering to schedules, budgets, and briefs.
- Stay informed about industry innovations, trends, and developments to integrate into project work creatively.
- Maintain high standards of practice and industry guidelines, with regular status updates to the account team.

What You Should Have
- Relevant degree (minimum Masters; advanced degree preferred such as MD, PhD, PharmD) in a science subject.
- Experience in medical writing, ideally in an agency setting.
- Strong scientific background and ability to learn new therapeutic areas quickly.
- Understanding of the clinical trials process (phases, data representation, drug approval process and key statistical variables).
- Attention to detail, clear and concise writing style, and knowledge of appropriate language usage in medical content.
- Understanding of new business processes and terminology; strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Independent thinker who can take ownership while collaborating with a team; professional presence and client-service orientation.
- Ability to manage upward when required and communicate deadlines or issues proactively.
- High energy to operate in a fast-paced, evolving environment; proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Word, Excel), especially PowerPoint.
