We are seeking a publications designer who is highly skilled at design and data visualization, and passionate about science and medical innovation. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse design projects for our global clients. The focus will be to help grow our scientific publications offering, creating impactful visual content that supports and enriches scientific communications.
Key Qualifications- Experience in Academia/Scientific Disciplines: Proven experience working in academic or scientific settings.
- Data Visualization Skills: Expertise in creating custom and elevating existing visualizations that range from diagrams, tables, charts, icons and graphs to enhance and explain scientific narratives.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in using design platforms, particularly InDesign and PowerPoint, for both print and digital applications.
- Creative and Adaptable: Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced agency environment, continuously pushing the boundaries of creativity while maintaining technical excellence.
- Create visually engaging and informative graphics and data visualisations for scientific communications and medical education materials across a range of digital and print channels including: scientific publications, presentations, and posters.
- Ensure you fully answer and provide a solution to each creative brief, while delivering projects on time.
- Confer with creative, art, copy writing, and medical writers to translate client requirements into exciting design options.
- Work well in a team structure.
- Provide input on design strategy, suggesting styles/techniques based on client requirements, objectives, budget, background information.
- Present design solutions to the art director/creative director for final approval before delivering and presenting to clients.
- Partner with other team members including account managers and other designers to deliver and maintain creative work to consistently high standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, or closely related field, or foreign degree equivalent.
- Experience in a MedComms/Healthcare Communications agency.
- Experience in design of graphics for scientific publications.
- Intellectual curiosity about science, and comfort with scientific ideas is essential.
- Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
- Knowledgeable with integration of design into Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills in a fast‑paced agency environment.
