Real Chemistry is looking for an Account Manager to join our growing team. As an Account Manager you will act as the key day‑to‑day client contact, managing relationships and taking responsibility for the delivery of several medium‑sized projects while coaching junior team members and ensuring projects are delivered effectively alongside the account lead.
Responsibilities
- Act as the day‑to‑day client contact: provide regular status updates, respond to client queries, share recommendations, manage client expectations on timelines and scope, and turn client briefs into clear project plans.
- Manage the day‑to‑day account processes, including running internal team meetings, reviewing content, delegating tasks, and tracking job status across the account.
- Own medium‑sized client projects, ensuring delivery to the highest standards within budget and agreed timeframes.
- Demonstrate an understanding of client needs and brand preferences in all interactions and work delivery.
- Develop written content (briefing documents, etc.) and review junior team members’ work to maintain high quality before senior review.
- Identify growth areas and proactively share new ideas with the team and client.
- Take an active role in new business, including research, pitches, and facilitation of brainstorming sessions.
Team Management
- Maintain awareness of junior team members’ professional development through regular catch‑ups and interactions.
- Develop coaching, delegation, and briefing skills and lead by example.
- Support account lead with financial management: Salesforce opportunities, invoicing, forecasting, accurate budgeting, and scope control.
- Feed budgeting information into broader program finances and alert the account lead to scope and budget changes.
- Input into the resourcing process by sharing project requirements.
- Manage timesheets, expense claims, and review timesheets across projects.
- Participate in internal initiatives that support the culture and development of the Medical Communications team.
- Immerse yourself in the medical communications and pharma industries and client companies to identify trends and raise your internal profile.
Qualifications
- Relevant degree in a scientific subject.
- Highly organized with a strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks based on priorities.
- Independent thinker who can take ownership of assets and materials while collaborating in a team.
- Ability to mentor junior staff and delegate to achieve project deadlines.
- Confidence to manage upward and communicate with managers when deadlines may not be met.
- Strong work ethic with a record of delivering high‑quality deliverables on schedule and on budget.
- Ability to develop project scopes and vendor contracts.
- Excellent business communication, presentation, and writing skills.
