Job Summary

As an Account Associate, you will learn how our business operates and become the ‘go‑to’ person on your team for getting things done. Your focus will be on day‑to‑day project management, building client relationships, and delivering high‑quality work under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Be the ‘go‑to’ person on your team for completing tasks and proactively offer support.
  • Take ownership of meetings (internal and external) ensuring all necessary logistics are in place.
  • Drive and manage updates to the status report and update status prior to client calls.
  • Capture accurate minutes from meetings and ensure all internal actions are completed on time.
  • Prepare project timelines in consultation with relevant team members.
  • Build relationships with clients through regular contact.
  • Manage external suppliers on client projects, ensuring delivery to budget and timelines.
  • Organise logistics for small to medium external meetings/events and manage costs.
  • Maintain professional contact with KOLs when undertaking key tasks.
  • Build your knowledge of client strategy by staying on top of emails and saving files appropriately.
  • Tailor communication to team members’ ways of working.
  • Participate in briefing processes, conduct pre‑reading, and confirm understanding of project deadlines and budgets.

Core Skills

  • Plan and prioritize work effectively, updating teams on progress and challenges.
  • Gain proficiency on VVPM, uploading, tagging, and managing items for approval.
  • Develop a full understanding of what ‘client ready’ means and reflect this in outputs.
  • Accurately reference and proofread work.
  • Write materials following a detailed brief, managing internal review timings.

Personal Development

  • Mentor new Account Associate starters.
  • Ask structured questions and organise meetings to clarify tasks.
  • Seek and provide constructive feedback to improve performance.

Financial Management

  • Support RC financial processes (job codes, purchase orders, Salesforce opportunities, time moves).
  • Draft budgets and discuss rationale with account lead.
  • Complete timesheets and expense claims accurately and on time.

Agency Environment

  • Immerse yourself in the medical communications and pharma industries, client companies and therapy areas, and reflect developments in your work.
  • Familiarise yourself with the ABPI Code of Practice and ensure compliance.

  • Highly organised with a mindfulness of deadlines and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Independent thinker who takes ownership of assets and material development, yet works collaboratively.
  • Communicates proactively when deadlines may be missed or issues arise.
  • Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills.
