Real Chemistry is looking for a Director, Medical Strategy to join our growing team! Join our expanding team to shape 21GRAMSâs global strategic medical capabilities. As part of the Medical Strategy Team, youâll merge scientific expertise with strategic insight and commercial acumen. Youâll guide clients through key product lifecycle stages, from defining impactful brand strategies to executing innovative tactics. Beyond analysing complex data, your role involves understanding perspectives and behaviours to craft patientâcentric narratives that resonate with stakeholders. We seek someone who fosters curiosity, thinks creatively, and acts as a strategic partner for both our team and clients, ensuring alignment with their goals.
What youâll do:
- Drive strategic medical thinking within our creative advertising team
- Oversee UKâbased global medical copywriters, providing mentorship and guidance in the development of key content
- Shape project direction based on client interests and desired outcomes, ensuring scientific elevation and tailored messaging
- Conduct research on medicines, therapeutic landscapes, and competitors to inform brand communication and strategy
- Collaborate with Brand Strategy team and Senior account teams to align direction with client strategy and insights
- Collaborate with Creatives to ensure scientific/medical accuracy in briefs and resonance of outputs
- Provide scientific guidance to teams, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with client objectives
- Foster strong client relationships, identify growth opportunities, and support new business initiatives with research and pitch narrative development

What you should have:
- Experience in strategic projects with global clients, preferably from an advertising or agency, in roles like Medical/Scientific Strategist or Senior Medical Writer or Copywriter
- Advanced degree (PharmD, PhD, MSc, RN, MD) in a scientific/medical discipline is preferable
- Ability to discern underlying challenges by actively listening and understanding both spoken and unspoken cues
- High client EQ, adept at adapting approaches to match client styles and interests
- Proficiency in storytelling, presentation, and distilling complex concepts into impactful narratives
- Strong work ethic, proactive attitude, adept at independent project delivery with minimal guidance, proficient in scientific research tools like PubMed, and competent in software like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; familiarity with the healthcare ecosystem and 4+ years of experience in launching biopharmaceutical brands.
