Real Chemistry is seeking an Account Manager to join our Medical Affairs Publications team. The Account Manager is the client’s day-to-day contact, managing relationships, setting client expectations, keeping colleagues informed, and considering future opportunities as well as today’s work. This hybrid role is based in any of our US offices or remote within the US, depending on team and business needs.

What you’ll do is focused on publication work streams and account management, ensuring delivery to high standards within budget and timelines, and proactively supporting growth and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Act as day-to-day client contact for publication work streams: provide regular status updates, respond to client queries, share recommendations (after discussion with your account lead), manage client expectations on timelines and scope, take briefs and communicate them to the team to develop realistic project plans
  • Manage day-to-day account processes, including running internal team meetings, workflow delegation, status reporting, and overseeing the status of jobs across the account
  • Own and be accountable for medium/large client projects, ensuring delivery to high standards within budget and timeframes
  • Maintain ongoing communication with your account lead on project progress; identify barriers and proactively propose solutions
  • Understand the client’s business priorities and program strategy; be aware of competitor activity; stay updated on trends in medical communications and pharma industries
  • Identify areas for growth and proactively share new ideas with the team and client
  • Assist in business development when opportunities arise, contribute to credentials and pitch presentations
  • Support account finances and financial management with guidance from the account lead
  • Engage in continued professional development; work with manager to identify training opportunities

Qualifications

  • Experience in publications in an agency setting (additional Medical Affairs experience desirable)
  • Working knowledge of ICMJE and GPP guidelines
  • Publication database experience (e.g., iEnvision, PubsHub)
  • Highly organized with strong attention to deadlines and the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Independent thinker who is also a team player with collaboration skills
  • Professional presence with urgency and client-service orientation
  • Ability to manage upward; communicate with managers if deadlines will not be met or issues are foreseeable
  • High energy, able to operate in a fast-paced environment
  • Track record of delivering high-quality work on schedule and on budget
  • Able to clearly communicate project updates, scopes, and recommendations to clients
  • BA or equivalent work experience required
