Skilled Joiner / Cabinet maker Location: High House Farm, Turner Lane, Ilkley LS29 0LJ Salary: Starting from £15 per hour – which is negotiable dependant on experience. Vacancy Type: Full-time, Permanent (39.25 hours per week) Readshaw Interiors are seeking a Skilled Joiner/Cabinet Maker to join our team. As a Joiner/Cabinet maker, you will be responsible for assembling standard and bespoke furniture , such as cabinets, reception counters and everything in-between, as well as using machinery within the workshop. The ideal candidate will have experience working with hand and power tools, as well as the ability to read and interpret drawings. We are ideally looking for someone who has general workshop skills and who has previous experience. Responsibilities Manufacture high-quality bespoke and standard cabinetry, furniture and joinery to specification. Read and interpret technical drawings from edrawings and paper drawings. Operate woodworking machinery safely and efficiently, including panel saws, spindle moulders, routers and other workshop equipment. Use hand tools and power tools correctly and safely. Assemble cabinets, doors, drawers, frames and other joinery components accurately. Ensure all components are manufactured to the required dimensions and tolerances. Fit hinges, drawer runners, handles, mechanisms and other cabinet hardware accurately. Work with a range of materials including MDF, plywood, veneered boards, solid surface, laminates, timber and other specialist materials.. Check components throughout the assembly process to identify and correct errors before assembly. Maintain a high standard of workmanship, paying close attention to detail. Complete work within agreed production timescales without compromising quality. Keep the work area clean, organised and free from hazards. Maintain and look after workshop machinery, tools and equipment. Report damaged, defective or unsafe equipment immediately. Follow company health and safety procedures and COSHH requirements. Use appropriate PPE and safe working practices at all times. Minimise material waste and use materials efficiently. Identify manufacturing problems and find practical solutions. Communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors and other departments. Work effectively as part of a fast-paced production team. Be willing to assist colleagues and contribute to the overall success of the workshop. Take responsibility for the quality of your own work. Carry out final quality checks before work is passed to the next stage. Maintain accurate production records where required. Follow company procedures, drawings, specifications and quality standards. Experience Proven experience as a Joiner/Cabinet maker or similar role Proficient in using hand tools and power tools Previous experience using Spindle Moulder & Sliding Table Saw Familiarity with woodworking techniques and materials Ability to read and interpret technical drawings Strong attention to detail and precision Excellent problem-solving skills Skills Hand tools Heavy lifting Carpentry skills Power tools operation Assembly skills Ability to operate wood working Machinery Working Hours Monday - Thursday: 7am - 4pm Friday: 7am - 3pm Experience: Joinery (2 years) Essential Requirements: Full UK driving licence Ability to commute reliably to Ilkley Benefits Company pension On-site free parking Christmas Shutdown Any overtime paid at time and half for first 5 hours weekly.
