Position Goal: To assist the Director of Food Service in the management and supervision of the production and service of food in support of the educational system of the District.

Essential Functions

  • Monitor the preparation and service of food to ensure consistent quality and compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Record daily absentees and arrange for substitute employees.
  • Coordinate selection of staff for additional time/overtime and special functions.
  • Responsible for preparation of school supply orders.
  • Responsible for preparation of produce orders weekly and monthly.
  • Responsible for bread orders weekly.
  • Responsible for preparation of RHS milk order daily.
  • Assist in rectifying supply and delivery problems.
  • Responsible for preparation, procurement, and billing for special functions.
  • Responsible for processing bagged lunch requests and scheduling delivery of same daily.
  • Generate weekly lunch number forecasts for secondary schools.
  • Generate weekly breakfast number forecasts for elementary and middle schools.
  • Coordinate and oversee the operation of our NSLP, SBP, FFVP, and CACFP programs.
  • Supervise counting of the money received from schools and transportation of same to the bank for deposit.
  • Supervise money room activities and audit cash on hand weekly.
  • Assist Food Services Director in dealings with the Department of Education and Department of Agriculture regarding facility inspections and audits.
  • Responsible for the ordering of unitized breakfast meals for all programs when needed.
  • Responsible for overseeing the daily completion of production records in Primero Edge.
  • Responsible for compliance monitoring at all schools for all programs.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting problems with computerized point of sale system hardware and associated software.
  • Assist Food Services Director with all aspects of preparation and implementation of the Summer Feeding Program.
  • Responsible for securing central commissary daily.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or his/her designee.
  • Works as a general aide, assisting Food Services Director as required.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervises all food service staff as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); minimum two years training in commercial food service; minimum three years experience in commercial food preparation; minimum one year supervisory experience; general knowledge of requirements of the National School Lunch Program.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Valid driver's license with a good driving record.

Evaluation

The employee will be formally evaluated annually by the Director of Food Service, in accordance with the provisions of the RSSSA agreement and Board Policy.
