Reading Rep Theatre is looking for a Producer to join us at an exciting moment in our development. We are a young and ambitious producing theatre with a growing body of our own work and a pipeline of bold projects, including in-house productions, co-productions, new writing, festive shows, visiting work and touring.

This is a senior producing role for someone who can take a project, run with it, and hold both the detail and the bigger picture. The role will support the full journey of each production: from early planning through to delivery. The Producer will also contribute to the artistic life of the organisation, including artistic programming, script feedback and artistic development, and helping to put creative teams together.

About you

We are looking for an experienced theatre producer who is organised, collaborative and confident holding both the detail and the bigger picture. You will have experience of delivering professional theatre productions, managing budgets and timelines, working with artists and creative teams, and building strong relationships across a range of partners and freelancers. You will be practical, calm under pressure and able to keep projects moving, while also contributing thoughtfully to the artistic life of the organisation. Access and anti-ableism matter deeply to us. We want a Producer who shares that commitment and helps us embed those values in the way we make work, collaborate with artists and freelancers, and welcome people into the theatre.

Practical details

Hours: 35 hours per week, excluding lunch. Working pattern: Some evening and weekend work will be required in line with the production schedule. As this is a salaried role, overtime payments do not apply; however, working patterns will be managed flexibly wherever possible to reflect production needs.

How to apply

To apply, please send a CV and covering letter outlining your interest in the role and how your experience matches the person specification via the button below. Closing date: 3 August 2026 at 10am. Interviews: Applications will be reviewed and interviews arranged on a rolling basis, so early applications are encouraged.

We actively encourage people from a variety of backgrounds, with different skills and stories, to join us and influence and develop our working practice. We are particularly keen to hear from people of colour and candidates who self-identify as disabled. Reading Rep Theatre is committed to equality of opportunity for all staff, and applications are encouraged regardless of age, caring responsibilities, disability, gender, gender identity, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, and sexual orientation.
