Reading Deaf Centre (RDC) is a Deaf-led charity dedicated to supporting Deaf and hard of hearing individuals to lead independent and empowered lives. Through accessible services, advice, advocacy, and community support, RDC actively works to break down barriers and challenge inequalities faced by Deaf people. Grounded in Deaf culture and lived experiences, RDC emphasizes accessibility as a core principle, promoting inclusion and equal access to services. Collaborating with partners, RDC strives to create meaningful change for Deaf communities, fostering an environment where Deaf individuals are valued, supported, and thrive.

This is a freelance contract position for a Social Media & Fundraising Researcher, Hybrid role based at home and Reading Deaf Centre. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and managing social media campaigns, creating engaging content, analysing audience engagement, and identifying new strategies to grow the organization's visibility online. You will also undertake research to identify fundraising opportunities, including grant applications, corporate partnerships, and potential donors, and assist in coordinating fundraising events and activities.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in British Sign Language is required
