We are looking for experienced and qualified freelance climbing instructors to support our instructed session delivery at Parthian Climbing Wandsworth. This is a fantastic opportunity for passionate individuals to work flexibly, running high-quality climbing sessions for a wide range of participants.

At Parthian Climbing, we offer a vibrant climbing environment with top-rope, lead, and bouldering facilities. We pride ourselves on delivering inclusive, high-quality climbing instruction for all ages and abilities—from beginners to seasoned climbers. As a freelance instructor, you will play a key role in inspiring and safely guiding our community.

Main Responsibilities
  • Delivering instructed sessions for both adults and children, including:
    • NICAS (National Indoor Climbing Award Scheme)
    • Adult beginner and improver courses
    • Kids clubs, school sessions, tasters, parties, and private coaching
  • Creating a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
  • Working in line with our centre’s safety and safeguarding policies
  • Always representing the centre professionally and reliably
Requirements
  • Hold a valid national climbing instructor qualification (RCI/CWI, CWDI Preferred)
  • Hold a current First Aid certificate validating your qualifications
  • Current Safeguarding Certification (can be arranged)
  • Up to date DBS certificate (preferably be on DBS update service)
  • Demonstrated experience instructing in a climbing environment
  • Minimum of 2 years’ climbing experience, ideally leading indoors at 6a or above
  • Effective communication skills and a friendly, professional attitude
  • Availability to deliver sessions on evenings and weekends
  • Attendance to an induction session
  • Completion of Check Employment Status for Tax (CEST)

Please note: Freelance instructors are paid per session delivered and are responsible for their own tax and National Insurance. This is not an employed position. Insurance is covered by Parthian Climbing subject to following our in-house procedures, instructors will work under a Contract for Services agreement.
