Job Title: PSV / HGV Technician Location: Reading Salary: £29+ per hour, depending on shift pattern Job Type: Full time, Permanent. Monday-Friday days 8am - 4pm/6am - 2pm and late shift 4 on 4 off 3pm - 2am. We are looking for PSV / HGV Technicians to join our engineering team at our Reading depot. You will play an important role in ensuring our bus fleet is maintained to a high standard and operates safely and reliably. You'll be joining an award-winning department that is a founder member of the DVSA's Earned Recognition scheme. Inspect, repair, and maintain our buses to a high standard Investigate and diagnose mechanical and electronic faults Carry out preventative maintenance and repairs as required Contribute to a safe, compliant and efficient workshop environment Ensure all work is completed to the required engineering and safety standards Shift Patterns: Positions are available across a range of shift patterns, including: ~ Monday - Friday day shift: Alternating two-week shift pattern of 8am - 4pm & 6am - 2pm ~4 on / 4 off late shift: 3pm - 2am The rate of pay will be determined by the rota you work on, with rates of £29+ per hour available. Possess at least an NVQ Level 2 qualification in the maintenance and repair of public service vehicles or heavy goods vehicles, or an equivalent international qualification OR have at least five years' experience in repairing and maintaining public service or heavy goods vehicles Have a strong understanding of mechanical and electronic vehicle systems If you don't have an NVQ qualification, you'll need to pass the IRTEC Service Maintenance Technician exam during your six-month probation period. Candidates with experience of PSV Technician, HGV Technician, PCV Technician, Bus Technician, Bus Mechanic, Heavy Vehicle Technician, Vehicle Technician, PSV Mechanic, HGV Mechanic, Fleet Technician, Engineering Technician, Maintenance Technician, Commercial Vehicle Technician or similar may also be considered for this role.
