We’relooking for a motivated and enthusiastic Early Years Apprentice to join our team atSure Start Whitley Nursery. About the role

You’lllearn how to support the development and wellbeing of children under 5 by working closely with qualified early years educators. Throughhandsonexperience and college study,you’llgain a solid understanding of child development, safeguarding and the Early Years Foundation Stage.

You will also:

  • Build strong relationships with a small group of key children,observingtheir progress and supporting their individual learning needs.
  • Contribute to creating an inclusive,safeand stimulating environment where children feel valued and secure.
  • Record observations usingthesystem, helping parents and carers stay connected with their child’s learning journey.
  • Support positive behaviour and act as a positive role model.
  • Assistwith daily routines including snack preparation, hygiene practices andmaintaininga clean, safe setting.
  • Work as part of a team and use your initiative to providehighqualitycare and learning experiences.

About you

You’llbe someone who genuinely enjoys spending time with young children and is enthusiastic about building a career in childcare.You’llbring warmth,curiosityand a willingness to learn, along with the motivation to work hard both in the nursery and at college.

We’realso looking for:

  • A friendly,approachableand confident person who can build positive relationships.
  • Someone organised, proactive and able to use their initiative.
  • Experience caring for children (this can be informal, such as babysitting).
  • Willingness toattendoccasional evening/weekend work whenrequired.
