We’re looking for a proactive Business Support Officer to join our busy Public Protection Team. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys variety, is great with people, and takes pride in delivering outstanding administrative support. About the role

You will be part of a team that supports key regulatory functions such as Licensing, Trading Standards, Environmental Protection, Private Sector Housing, Food & Safety and the Berkshire Coroners Service. Ideally, we are looking for someone with Salesforce/Arcus experience, along with processing knowledge of HMO, Premises, Vehicle, Driver and Operator licences.

Responsibilities

  • Responding to customer enquiries
  • Entering, maintaining and reporting data using various systems
  • Monitoring team mailboxes, processing enquiries and flagging urgent cases
  • Assessing applications for compliance documentation
  • Liaising with external agencies including police and fire services
  • Providing general administrative and team support

We’re seeking a confident and highly organised individual with excellent communication and customer service skills. You’ll be comfortable working in a busy environment, managing multiple tasks with excellent accuracy and attention to detail. A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel is essential, as is the ability to learn new systems quickly. You should enjoy being part of a team while also being able to work independently and use your initiative when needed. You will have experience in a business support or administrative role, preferably within a customer-facing or public sector environment. You’ll be flexible, approachable and proactive - ready to support colleagues at all levels and contribute to the smooth running of our Public Protection services.
