The role is hands-on and involves carrying out audit work (with help) from planning through to completion and the preparation of non-audit accounts given the client’s computerised records. The role will include corporate and personal tax compliance and we are happy to train the candidate to deal with these aspects of the work.
The candidate will be given a portfolio of clients with some clients in their sole charge. There is direct client contact and reporting will be to a manager/Associate Director. The portfolio is extremely varied and interesting as we do not specialise in any business sector. The clients range from being regulated (Investment Managers and Advisers) to high profile restaurants to travel companies and professional services (i.e. dentists, doctors, solicitors). While most of our clients are SME/owner managed businesses, we have a number that are subsidiaries of large overseas groups.
The candidate will ideally be from a small to medium size practice and have at least 5 years’ experience at a good quality UK practice. We use Iris software to generate our accounts and tax returns so experience with Iris would be beneficial. Ideally, the candidate should be qualified but they must be prepared to actually do the work as opposed to reviewing the work of others. This role does not offer any sponsorship opportunities and you must have recent UK based practice experience to be considered.
