Design Project Manager Water / Wastewater Location: Dublin / Site-Based Contract: Full-Time | Permanent Sector: Civil Engineering / Utilities Salary: Negotiable DOE The Role Our client is seeking an experienced Design Project Manager Water / Wastewater to lead the design and coordination of major water infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will take responsibility for managing multidisciplinary design teams and ensuring all technical designs are delivered in line with client requirements, regulatory standards and project programmes. This role will cover the full project lifecycle, from concept and detailed design through to construction handover. Key Responsibilities Manage the design process across water and wastewater infrastructure projects. Work across projects including pipelines, pumping stations, reservoirs and treatment facilities. Coordinate internal and external design teams. Ensure designs comply with Irish Water standards, project specifications and regulatory requirements. Prepare and review technical designs, drawings and supporting documentation. Ensure designs are accurate, practical and buildable. Liaise with Project Managers, site teams and subcontractors to coordinate design and construction activities. Carry out design risk assessments. Ensure Health & Safety and environmental considerations are incorporated into the design process. Manage design programmes, budgets and project deliverables. Monitor progress to ensure design information is issued in line with programme requirements. Support tender and bid processes with technical documentation and design input. Liaise with clients, local authorities, regulatory bodies and other project stakeholders. Provide technical leadership throughout project delivery. Candidate Requirements Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline. Minimum 8+ years experience within water infrastructure design and project management. Strong experience delivering water and wastewater projects. Experience working to Irish Water or similar utility standards. Strong knowledge of design and construction processes. Experience managing multidisciplinary design teams. Proficiency with design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D or equivalent. Strong project management and organisational skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder-management abilities. Strong technical problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple design deliverables, deadlines and priorities.
