Clinical Assessor Northern Ireland Full-time Part-time 30 hrs per week Company Description Discover a new kind of career in healthcare as a Clinical Assessor??????? Working in healthcare, and looking for a change? If you are a fully registered medical practitioner, a psychologist, a registered nurse, an occupational therapist, a physiotherapist, or a social worker you could use your skills in a different way as a clinical assessor. Working with our client, you will embark on a rewarding career, utilising your core skills as a healthcare professional in an entirely different way. In January 2020 the Victims Payments Regulations 2020 (the 2020 Regulations) were published and the Department of Justice (DoJ) was designated to administer the scheme. In 2021, TPDPS opened for applications from those living with permanent physical or psychological injury caused by a Troubles-Related Incident (TRI) and posthumous applications. The purpose of the scheme is to acknowledge the harm suffered by those injured in the Troubles and promote reconciliation between people in connection with Northern Irelands troubled past. As a clinical assessor you will undertake clinical functional assessments for applicants to the Troubles Permanent Disablement Payment Scheme to determine the level of permanent disablement caused by a Trouble Related Incident(s) and produce a structured assessment report to the Victims Payments Board (VPB) decision makers. Job Description Were looking for people with the compassion and mental health experience to bring our applicants through the disablement assessment process. We need people with great computer skills, impartiality and strong functional assessment and time management skills. Its a challenging role and can be quite different from other healthcare professions, and thats why we take your training and development seriously. Youll begin with a 7-week, training programme (Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm) with time set aside for self-development learning. Well be here to support you, with close mentorship provided as you work on your ongoing development. Everyone starts at £38,500 per annum (pro rata for part-time). We offer a career pathway programme which can increase your salary up to £41,400 plus up to 10% performance incentive. Many of our clinical assessors go on to become Operations Managers, Clinical Trainers, Clinical Coaches and Quality Auditors. What youll be doing: Meet face to face both physically and/or virtually and review available medical evidence from applicants to the scheme to determine the permanence of an applicants condition and their percentage disablement Play a pro-active role in seeking insight and further medical evidence as required from GPs, other healthcare professionals or services to support the applicants TPDPS application Gather relevant information, where applicable from the applicant and or representative, and analyse and interpret clinical information along with any other supporting evidence. Compile a comprehensive report in a professional and concise manner, including a detailed history, a full justification and conclusion from evidence gathered to support the Victims Payments Board (VPB) in its decision-making. Qualifications What were looking for: A fully registered medical practitioner such as a, psychologist, registered nurse, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, or social worker; or fully registered with a regulatory body with a minimum of 2 years post registration experience (4 years for social workers) Fully registered without sanction or conditions of practice with the GMC/NMC/HCPC/NISCC with a valid PIN A valid full driving licence and access to a car A demonstrable background in a Mental Health / Psychiatric speciality Ability to work at pace, set boundaries, manage conversations and keep to timescales Ability to relate to people from a range of socio-economic backgrounds, races, religions and cultures Report writing skills with an ability to deal with a high percentage of work using a laptop and IT systems Strong analytical skills familiar with MS Office, particularly Excel/Word and PowerPoint Successful candidates will be required to successfully complete government baseline personnel security standard vetting and a Counter Terrorist Check (CTC). This is recognised standard for the pre-employment screening of individuals with access to information related to the TPDPS. Additional Information Your working hours: Minimum contracted hours for this role are 30 hours per week and a maximum of 37.5 per week (full time). Well consider your work-life balance, as well as the needs of the business, to try and create a working pattern that benefits both of us. Working patterns can be between the hours of 8am and 8pm, Monday to Friday and include an hour for lunch, unpaid. For example, 8am 4:30pm or 9am 5:30pm. Well also try to give you a minimum of 4 weeks notice of any changes to your rota if they are needed. Whats in it for you? A competitive basic salary of £38,500.
