What you'll be doing:
- Meet face to face both physically and/or virtually and review available medical evidence from applicants to the scheme to determine the permanence of an applicant's condition and their percentage disablement.
- Play a pro-active role in seeking insight and further medical evidence as required from GPs, other healthcare professionals or services to support the applicant's TPDPS application.
- Gather relevant information, where applicable from the applicant and or representative, and analyse and interpret clinical information along with any other supporting evidence.
- Compile a comprehensive report in a professional and concise manner, including a detailed history, a full justification and conclusion from evidence gathered to support the Victims Payments Board (VPB) in its decision-making.
Qualifications:
- A fully registered medical practitioner such as a psychologist, registered nurse, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, or social worker; or fully registered with a regulatory body with a minimum of 2 years post registration experience (4 years for social workers).
- Fully registered without sanction or conditions of practice with the GMC/NMC/HCPC/NISCC with a valid PIN.
- A valid full driving licence and access to a car.
- A demonstrable background in a Mental Health / Psychiatric speciality.
- Ability to work at pace, set boundaries, manage conversations and keep to timescales.
- Ability to relate to people from a range of socio-economic backgrounds, races, religions and cultures.
- Report writing skills with an ability to deal with a high percentage of work using a laptop and IT systems.
- Strong analytical skills familiar with MS Office, particularly Excel/Word and PowerPoint.
Successful candidates will be required to successfully complete government baseline personnel security standard vetting and a Counter Terrorist Check (CTC). This is recognised standard for the pre-employment screening of individuals with access to information related to the TPDPS.
Your working hours:
- Minimum contracted hours for this role are 30 hours per week and a maximum of 37.5 per week (full time).
- Working patterns can be between the hours of 8am and 8pm, Monday to Friday and include an hour for lunch, unpaid.
- For example, 8am - 4:30pm or 9am - 5:30pm.
- We will also try to give you a minimum of 4 weeks notice of any changes to your rota if they are needed.
