An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Technical Manager to join a leading food manufacturing business in Ballymena. This Assistant Technical Manager role is ideal for someone with strong food safety, quality assurance and audit experience looking to progress within a fast-paced chilled food environment.
The successful Assistant Technical Manager will support the Technical Manager, lead the QA function on site and help drive food safety, compliance and continuous improvement standards across the factory.

The Role:
- Support continuous improvement projects across food safety and quality standards
- Investigate complaints, non-conformances and corrective actions
- Lead the Quality Assurance team and support daily technical operations
- Ensure compliance with company standards, legislation, BRC and retailer requirements
- Participate in HACCP, allergen, integrity and internal audit programmes
- Lead technical audits and customer visits, ensuring the site remains audit ready
- Coach and support operations, engineering and QA teams to strengthen food safety culture
The Requirements:
- HNC or Degree qualification in Food Science, Food Technology or related discipline
- Strong understanding of food manufacturing standards including BRC and retailer COPs
- Experience working within a chilled food manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of microbiology, food safety and quality systems
- HACCP and Food Safety qualifications (minimum Level 3)
