Role Purpose
As an Operations Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation and performance of our platform within a fast‑paced, high‑growth start‑up environment. Your primary responsibility will be to monitor our technical infrastructure, manage client onboardings, including FIX integrations, to deliver reliable and efficient trading experiences for our clients. With a focus on maintaining high availability, monitoring system performance, and responding to technical issues, you will contribute to our mission of providing the market‑leading multi‑asset trading technology. Successful candidates will have a track‑record in service delivery across clients, stakeholders and third‑party vendors and will be joining us at an exciting time for our business as we expand into other asset classes bringing new challenges.

Responsibilities
- Technical Environment Monitoring: Monitor system performance, triage and where applicable troubleshoot technical issues, ensuring these issues are captured for review and where appropriate, remedy. Collaborate with the operations and the development teams to ensure seamless integration of new features and enhancements while maintaining system stability. Manage inbound client queries, specifically those that relate to a disruption in service or inability to either receive market data or trade. Get up to speed on the system topology and internal processes to ensure a sound understanding of the platform and administration tasks. Proactively monitor and be available to respond to emails, telephone, alerting channels and other conversations ongoing throughout the trading day.
- New client setups: Assist with the onboarding of new client accounts and users, including setup on the platform and the provisioning of liquidity across all appropriate venues. Ensure the communication between external clients in respect of any new setup or enhancement is conveyed in a clear and concise manner and where appropriate, keep the business development team updated.
- FIX Integrations and Connectivity: Assist with FIX integrations for external clients, liquidity providers, and partners, ensuring a smooth and efficient onboarding. Maintain up‑to‑date documentation of onboarding processes, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures. Support the configuration and maintenance of our trading platform's environment, including FIX integrations, connectivity, and any post‑trade related workflows. Work closely with our clients' external vendors to capture requirements upfront, help to manage connectivity and system configuration required to support the business line(s). Monitor and validate FIX message flows to help identify and resolve any issues related to trade execution, order routing, and market data delivery.
- Incident Response and Problem Resolution: Provide timely and accurate responses to technical incidents, analysing root causes and implementing solutions to prevent recurrence. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including developers and business development, to address technical challenges and ensure timely incident resolution.
- Performance Optimisation: Identify opportunities to enhance platform performance, scalability, and reliability, working closely with the development team to implement optimisations. Monitor system metrics and performance indicators, proactively identifying and addressing potential bottlenecks or areas for improvement.

Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in operations or infrastructure management within the financial technology (FinTech) industry, preferably with exposure to FX trading platforms.
- Proficiency in FIX protocol and its implementation in the context of FX and financial markets.
- Solid understanding of technical infrastructure components, network protocols, and connectivity in trading environments.
- Experience with operating systems and scripting languages (e.g. Python).
- Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools for system performance and incident management.
- Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to analyse complex technical issues and provide effective solutions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, particularly in coordinating with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast‑paced, dynamic start‑up environment.
