We are seeking a highly organized transport planner with a strong track record in the industry and at least one year of hands-on experience for our client in the Telford area. The successful candidate will be proficient in Word, Excel, and the full Office 365 suite, and will bring a sharp attention to detail to ensure daily routes are planned efficiently and loads are optimally coordinated.
Responsibilities:
- Plan daily and weekly driver routes and delivery schedules, based on customer orders.
- Allocate work to drivers based on availability, location and workload.
- Monitor journeys and adjust routes to avoid delays or disruptions.
- Communicate with drivers, customers and operations teams throughout the day.
- Ensure vehicles and drivers meet legal compliance and working time rules.
- Respond to last minute changes, breakdowns or urgent jobs.
- Track performance including on-time deliveries, mileage and efficiency.
- Use transport planning software to manage jobs and resources.
- Support continuous improvement in route planning and cost efficiency.
Requirements / Qualifications:
- 1+ years' experience in a Transport Planning based position.
- Experience with planning systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to meet multiple strict deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
